ALHAMBRA, CA- UFC Fighter Jon “Bones” Jones was given a one-year suspension by UFC headquarters in Las Vegas on Monday.
Jones, 29, was suspended for testing positive for banned substances, clomiphene and letrozole, after failing a drug test back in June. Jones was then pulled from a UFC 200 fight against Daniel Cormier in July.

Jones says he always maintained his innocence and is happy to be cleared of allegations to intentionally taking a banned substance.The evidence brought before United States Anti-Doping Agency panel proved that Jones was not an intentional drug cheat.
Jones’ teammate, Eric Blasich, had given what Jones believed to be Cialis, a form of a sexual enhancement pill. Cialis is a brand form of tadalfil. Jones says he checked with his agent to make sure that the pill was not banned before taking it.
UFC President Dana White says Jones not only loses one year of his career, but if he had moved up to heavyweight division, Jones will lose about 15 to 20 million dollars while serving the suspension. Jones stands to lose about nine million dollars as a light heavyweight fighter.
